BC&F Dentsu has unveiled major changes to its management structure in Auckland, with ceo Daniel Barnes stepping back to a founder/partner role – while his colleague of the past 10 years, ECD Paul Catmur, becomes joint ECD/ceo.
After 20 years as ceo, Daniel Barnes will shift his focus from operational management to key strategic projects and client relationships. “This was long-planned move, given the broader operational resources available to the agency within the Dentsu Aegis acquisition,” Barnes said in a release.
Paul Catmur, who joined the agency as ECD and partner 10 years ago, will extend his management role to include ceo, and will continue to be supported by Luke Farmer who will take on increased responsibility as managing partner.
Colenso deputy CD Mick Stalker signs on as CD
The agency has also announced the appointment of Mick Stalker as Creative Director. Stalker joined after a ten-year stint at Colenso BBDO where he worked across almost every client in College Hill.
Most recently he’s been responsible for the launch of Spark and the corporate reputation work for Fonterra Brands.
Mick Stalker said: “I’ve had an amazing decade at Colenso but I’m really excited to join BC&F Dentsu, and look forward to continuing to build on their fantastic reputation for work that works.”
He joined BC&F Dentsu yesterday (Monday 19 June).
Paul Catmur said: “After 16 years as an ECD I’m genuinely looking forward to the different challenges that come with a ceo role. With support from Luke, Mick, Daniel, Rob and the rest of the team hopefully I won’t make too big a hash of it.”
Daniel Barnes said: “Personally I’m looking forward to spending more time on the new strategic opportunities that are out there for our clients and our own business, and less time in the operational machinery now we’ve got such a strong new support team at Dentsu Aegis Network to cover off areas like HR and Finance.”
New digs
BC&F Dentsu will soon vacate its High Street premises to move into larger, custom designed offices on Cook Street, closer to the Dentsu Aegis Network agencies.
