New shop storms NZ digital circuit

Auckland-based media specialist Digital Commons, established just three months ago, already leads the way in bringing data, content and social solutions to NZ digital media, according to its founders – Lisa Ison & Johanna Cotter.

Until very recently, Ison was managing director at NZ premium digital advertising sales house ad2one – and Cotter was her sales director. At Digital Commons, they share the title of managing partners.

Now their focus is bringing cutting edge international products and brands to NZ advertising agencies and their clients.

NZ launch for US travel platform
The pair launched their business with several clients, including California-based ADARA and its Magellan Travel Intelligence Platform, and “hit the ground running”.

ADARA leverages first party data from 100+ global travel brands to provide actionable insight, allowing marketers to better understand, reach and engage customers.

“I am excited by this partnership, which brings the power of ADARA’s global travel data platform to New Zealand,” said ADRA Pacific commercial director. Stuart Stacy.

“The Pacific region is important to ADARA and we see great demand for smart, data-driven marketing solutions from major business in the region. I look forward to building a successful partnership with Digital Commons.”

Lisa Ison says the introduction of high calibre partnerships is really testament to the fact that international brands want to have a presence in the NZ market but often don’t have a business case to set up their own office.

“That’s where we come in,” she says. “Digital Commons is bridging a fundamental business gap between the supply and the demand of cutting edge data, content and effective social solutions in this market.

“NZ digital strategy has always been at the forefront of excellence on the international stage but to maintain this position New Zealand businesses need access to the most innovative products and solutions available.”

Flying start
Johanna Cotter said: “Digital Commons was born from the idea of being able to bring together best-in-class digital media solutions and making it easy for NZ brands to work with them, with exceptional support and service,” Cotter says.

“And with this run of partnerships and wins we’re off to a flying start.”
