AUCKLAND, Yesterday: A fresh platform for open business discussions has arrived, inviting Kiwi businesses to connect through Stuff HOW:TO Powered by ANZ, it’s packed with news, guides, and conversation starters.
HOW:TO aims to break down the “closed-door” approach to business success. Here, ambitious Kiwis can share strategies, collaborate, and help each other grow.
Led by veteran journalist Gill South, HOW:TO offers content from top journalists and industry voices. “Whether you’re a tradie starting out on your own, the founder of a startup, the owner of a corner store, or you have an idea on a napkin, HOW:TO is here to support you,” South says.
“It’s an online space where every ‘why’ has a ‘how’. Readers will find open forums to ask and answer questions that matter to small businesses like their own. The platform also features thought leadership articles, allowing users to learn from the best in the business,” she adds.
Stuff Group’s commitment to Kiwi businesses fuels HOW:TO’s mission to spark conversation and boost engagement, driving forward a powerful platform for business insight and support.
Owner Sinead Boucher, who acquired Stuff in 2020, reflects on the collaborative effort with ANZ, saying, “As a business owner, I understand the challenges behind every success.”

“Owning your own business can also be isolating at times – I’m so pleased that together we were able to create a space where ideas, inspiration and great business conversations can be shared,” Boucher adds.
ANZ, dedicated to helping New Zealand businesses grow, is the driving force behind HOW:TO. “In those first few years, courage and support are essential,” says Lorraine Mapu, ANZ’s Managing Director of Business and Agri.
“We are proud to back this new platform and confident that HOW:TO can be the place where those in business find answers to their questions, stories that inspire, and insights that contribute to their success. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy; when they do well, the whole country benefits,” Mapu says.
Creative studio Daylight brought HOW:TO to life. CEO Lee Lowndes notes, “It’s great to see ANZ continuing to support small businesses in Aotearoa, helping them become more resilient.
“Bringing together the values of Stuff and ANZ has been an exciting creative journey for the team, shaping a dynamic identity and digital experience that truly reflects the energy of our business community.”
Sinead Boucher launched HOW:TO with a panel talk, featuring Lisa King (Eat My Lunch), Paddy Gower (Believer Media), and Latesha Hearth (Raglan Food Co.), sharing their startup journeys.
