Most newspaper and magazine titles dropped in the magazine and newspaper audits and receivership figures, released Friday by the Audit Bureau of Circulations and Nielsen Media.
But the falls were mainly very slight – and for many, a drop in circulation was met with a rise in readership (and vice-versa).
Our analyses are based on year-on-year data, but a comparison of the period-on-period figures shows many titles – both magazines and newspapers – are slowly improving after very modest returns in 2013.
And, inevitably, Stuff and the NZ Herald Online are growing mightily, offsetting the slow decline of print editions.
