WELLINGTON, Today: Newspapers large and small, up and down the country, are putting more pressure on Jacinda Ardern’s hardline pro-Facebook/Google ad policies.
This was reflected, again, in a strongly worded Editor’s column that ran in yesterday’s Herald on Sunday, urging the PM to rethink public adspend on offshore-owned social media giants.
“They’ve soaked up much of the advertising dollar despite sometimes being used as platforms for fostering unfiltered fake news and misinformation,” the HoS ed said, rather politely.
