Y&R NZ scooped the big prizes at Australia’s AWARD Awards held in Sydney on Friday, taking out Best in Show (for McWhopper) and Asia Pacific Agency of the Year – plus nine Gold Pencils (the most for any agency on either side of the Tasman).
Y&R, Special Group, The Sweet Shop, Colenso, Saatchi, DDB, and Contagion are all through to the finals – with multiple entries – at Australia’s AWARD Awards. All up, NZ scored a remarkable 77 finalist spots.
Sixteen Kiwi entries – from Y&R, Special Group, and Clemenger Wellington – have made the third wave of finalists for Australia’s AWARD Awards, joining Saatchi & Saatchi, Colenso BBDO, and DDB who went through earlier in the week.
After a comprehensive agency review and pitch process, bcg2 has been appointed as the Animates creative agency encompassing their retail and professional services portfolio. The incumbent was Y&R.
Ten NZ entries are among the first wave of finalists for Australia’s AWARD Awards – Y&R has four finalist spots in Direct Marketing, and a further two in Poster & Outdoor; Colenso BBDO has two finalists through in the Print category, and Special Group has two finalists in Poster & Outdoor.
TVNZ has announced plans to launch a male-skewing entertainment channel for New Zealand viewers in coming months. The new channel will be live streamed online and broadcast free to air.
D&AD has named Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland ECD Corey Chalmers and Clemenger BBDO Wellington CD Bridget Alkema as jurors for its 2015 awards, scheduled for April in London. The categories they will judge have yet to be announced.
The Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association (AWARD) will increase its presence at Sydney’s annual Semi Permanent festival of creativity and design from May 2016, in a collaboration that will introduce an annual AWARD showcase to the three-day event and host the annual AWARD Awards ceremony as a new focal point of the festival.
