Australia’s AWARDS taps Kiwis for jury duty
Six senior creatives with strong links to NZ have been named as jury members for Australia’s AWARD Awards. One of them – FCB’s Auckland-based Asia Pacific ECD James Mok – has been appointed a jury chairman (chairing the Branded Entertainment & Content jury). And DDB Sydney ECD Toby Talbot, formerly ECD in Auckland at Whybin\TBWA and DDB, will chair the Print, Poster & Outdoor jury.
Two NZ ads make Gunn Top 12
The Gunn Report has released Cases for Creativity 2014, a study that identifies the 12 campaigns that have won both a Cannes Gold Lion for creativity and a 2014 Gold Effie for effectiveness. Two of the top campaigns were created in NZ. Two campaigns from Australia also made the cut.
Celebrated NZ director exits
NZ film and advertising cinematographer and director John Day died while travelling in India last week. He was on holiday on the subcontinent with his partner Melanie Rakena and friends. His funeral will be held this Monday 19 January at 2pm in the Grey Lynn Library Hall, 474 Great North Road.

Facebook at Work gets to work
Facebook has today begun to test Facebook at Work with “a few partners” (unnamed – presumably for security reasons). Facebook at Work is a separate experience that gives employees the ability to connect and collaborate efficiently using Facebook tools — many that they’re likely already using such as News Feed, Groups, messages and events.
