AUCKLAND, Friday: PR agency Acumen Republic has opted for fish’n’chip shop activations to promote Cadbury’s Favourites’ new limited-edition chocolate fish box – featuring Kiwi art on the lid.

Cadbury NZ’s Will Papesch said: “The delicious choc-dipped marshmallow fish has been the classic Kiwi reward for a job well done and the fan favourite is now joining the Cadbury Favourites line-up.

“Cadbury partnered with Kiwi artist Glenn Jones to design the box which is based off an old-school sardine tin.

“To celebrate the launch, Cadbury is giving New Zealanders the chance to receive a complimentary box of Cadbury Favourites with Choc Fish at one of 10 popular fish and chip shops around the country.

“The free Cadbury Favourites parcel is wrapped in custom-Cadbury designed newspaper launch film, and we have included a short video of some customers being surprised at the Mangonui Fish Shop in Northland.

The participating takeaway stores:

  • Mangonui Fish Shop
  • The Fish Stop, Glen Eden
  • Fish Smith, Herne Bay
  • Devon Sea Foods, Rotorua
  • Charles Street Takeaway, Napier
  • Mt Vic Chippery, Wellington
  • Haven F&C, Nelson
  • Theos Fisheries, Christchurch
  • Coopers Catch, Kaikoura
  • Kings Fish Market, Invercargill

Aussie rules
Sadly, Cadbury NZ no longer makes its chocolate in NZ – it closed its iconic Dunedin factory in 2017, and took production offshore.

Ditto with its advertising. The NZ account is now it’s handed by Ogilvy Melbourne as part of Cadbury ANZ.

Cadbury Favourites with Choc Fish are available now at retailers nationwide for a limited time (RRP: $18.99).
