AUCKLAND, Today: New measurement from Nielsen shows that digital ad network Scroll Media’s custom roll up of publishers reaches 1-in-4 Kiwis online.

Scroll MD Jane Ormsby said: “As more and more Kiwis are going online, there’s now a potential to reach 4.18 million Kiwis online.”

Scroll Media audience comprises of users across Otago Daily Times, Businessdesk, Sunlive, NZX, Interest, Accuweather, Geekzone, RugbyPass, Scoop, NRL and Kidspot.

Nielsen Online Ratings data confirms that the unique reach is 998,000 people for the month of January. 


“This research helps combat the duopoly with Facebook & Google, and support our local content providers.”

Ormsby said: “we are really pleased with the independent audit results via Nielsen to learn more insights about our audience.

“We were pleasantly surprised to find the home ownership rates of our audience is 68%.

“Having this research is another way we can combat the duopoly with Facebook and Google and support our local content providers.

“As the Google Cookie restraints unfold, we see more of a return to contextual advertising, which is positive news for our publishers.”
