QUEENSTOWN, Monday: South Island-based production shop Shotover Media has launched their latest creative work with a dramatic film shot for Queenstown Airport Corporation (which manages both Queenstown and Wanaka Airports).
Shotover Media developed the creative ideas in-house with storytelling craft and cinematic skill at heart, inviting the audience to meet the airport’s people. A doco series, Why Do We Fly?, will follow, also produced by Shotover Media.
Shotover Media director James Perry said: “We’ve been working closely with the aviation community in Queenstown and Wanaka for a number of years now so we knew there was an incredible depth of character to the industry.
“Shooting over Mount Aspiring National Park during one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen was a career highlight for me.”
“The Why Do We Fly project is definitely a huge challenge in its scale but having the chance to share these stories with the world is a great opportunity and something we’re extremely proud to be a part of,”
Director Pete Whittaker said: “We knew early on that to demonstrate the romance of aviation we needed to be up in air.
“And shooting with a Shotover camera system over the Mount Aspiring National Park during one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen was a career highlight for me.”
