BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA, Thursday: Two finals judges from New Zealand have been selected for the Ad Stars creative competition, to be held in August.
- VMLY&R ECD Kim Pick will judge the Direct, Media, Promotion, PR categories.
- Gary Steele, who joins DDB NZ as ECD in May (from TBWA\Singapore) will judge the Interactive, Integrated, Innovation, Mobile, Data Insights, Social & Influencer categories.
Ad Stars 2019 takes place at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Centre (Bexco), South Korea, from Thursday 22 August 22 to Saturday 24 August.
Steele said (via a PR release from Busan): “With any awards show the most exciting thing is sitting down and only focusing on the work.
“This is why I love being on judging panels as it is the pure focus and the ability to see work you would never have seen from around the world all wrapped up nicely in a few days.
“In Ad Stars’ case, this is even better as the work is from around the region and it is not often you get to see what is happening in markets at other award shows. This really gives you a perspective of the region and where it is headed.”
