AUCKLAND, Today: Spotify video keeps rising, with over 250 million users streaming a video podcast. The platform’s now focused on improving the viewing experience and helping creators get discovered.
More creators are jumping on board. Monthly video uploads are up 50% year over year, featuring hit shows like Call Her Daddy, Rotten Mango and The Diary of a CEO.
Now Spotify’s expanding the Spotify Partner Program (SPP), a creator monetisation model, into nine more markets—France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
From April 29, eligible audio and video creators in these countries can sign up. That means a better video experience is coming to more listeners too.
Since launching in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, the SPP has delivered. In January 2025 alone, creator payouts jumped 300% compared to the same time last year.
Spotify AUNZ Head Of Podcasts, Prithi Dey said, “As video consumption continues to accelerate on Spotify, our focus is in evolving the creator ecosystem to give creators more opportunities to monetise their video content on the platform, and the tools they need to grow and reach new audiences.”
“We are also focused on giving Premium audiences what they want; a better viewing experience, uninterrupted by dynamic ads.”
“The Spotify Partner Program now arrives in New Zealand to empower creators with multiple revenue streams, including audience-driven payouts from Spotify Premium video engagement and ad monetisation on Spotify Free and other podcast platforms.” – Prithi Dey
Dey added, “The Spotify Partner Program now arrives in New Zealand to empower creators with multiple revenue streams, including audience-driven payouts from Spotify Premium video engagement and ad monetisation on Spotify Free and other podcast platforms.”
“This flexibility gives creators greater control over their businesses, helping them adapt to shifts in the growing podcast audience while driving incremental revenue.”
“We believe that creators should be able to have their content on all platforms – so we’re providing them with another platform to reach audiences on.”
About the Spotify Partner Program (SPP)
SPP gives creators new ways to earn—like payouts from Premium video engagement and ad revenue from Free users and other platforms. It’s flexible, reliable, and built for growth.
Since launching in January, video podcast consumption is up 20% and creator payouts have jumped 300%. Some podcasters are already hitting six-figure earnings.
The program gives creators more control and fans a better experience—especially Premium users who can now watch ad-free.
Spotify’s also added tools like short-form clips to boost discoverability, making it easier for listeners to find their next favourite show.
