Stuff & NZME win in Paris

PARIS, Last Night: NZ media giants Stuff and NZME shared the honours at the 2020 Global Media Awards, each taking out one of 10 regional wins.

Stuff won the Best in Asia/Pacific (*Regional/Local Brands) for The Press coverage of the Christchurch Mosque shooting.

NZME won Best in Asia/Pacific (*Global/National Brands) for the NZ Herald.

Stuff also did well in a number of specialist categories …

  • First place in Best Use of Print for The Press coverage of the Christchurch Mosque shooting.
  • Second in Best Use of Video for Stuff Circuit’s Life & Limb.
  • Third in Best Use of Audio for White Silence podcast.
  • Third in Best New Initiative to Empower and Retain Talent for All of Us.
  • Honourable mention: Best PR or Community Service Campaign for Wasp Wipeout.

Some 42 media experts from 20 countries judged the competition in February and April, focusing on breakthrough results, unique concepts, strong creativity, innovative thinking, and winning synergies across media platforms.

INMA has rewarded excellence in news media since 1937. 

*Entries were divided into two groups: Global/National Brands and Regional/Local Brands.
