AUCKLAND, Today: Taboola has extended its partnership with the Otago Daily Times, locking in a new six-year deal with Dunedin-based publisher Allied Press.

The renewal marks Taboola’s longest-ever publisher agreement in the Australia and New Zealand market. Taboola will continue powering content recommendations and advertising across odt.co.nz, keeping users engaged and helping advertisers scale performance.

The Otago Daily Times will also keep using Taboola’s full product suite, including Taboola Feed, Newsroom, homepage and article personalisation, push notifications, Explore More, and Next Up.

These tools are designed to grow audience reach, deepen engagement, and boost revenue across multiple touchpoints on the ODT’s digital platforms. By the end of the new term, the partnership will hit 11 years—starting from their original collaboration in 2020.

Since then, odt.co.nz has grown its digital audience significantly, now attracting nearly eight million page views every month.

Allied Press Commercial Manager, Matthew Holdridge said, “We have enjoyed a long and successful partnership with Taboola, which has helped drive traffic to our site and improve reader engagement through content recommendations.

“ODT.co.nz is the independent voice of the South (Island) and we look forward to working with Taboola to lift our reader engagement and revenue growth even further using their suite of tools.”

Adam Singolda, Founder and CEO of Taboola said, “The Otago Daily Times, New Zealand’s oldest daily newspaper, has been a valued, long-time partner of Taboola. Our renewed partnership – the longest-ever signed in the ANZ market – is a testament to the strength of our working relationship and the potential of our audience tools.

“The Otago Daily Times team has witnessed first-hand the power of our products, in New Zealand, demonstrating the ability of our platform to help deliver traffic and revenue. We’re grateful for the Otago Daily Times’ ongoing support and we’re looking forward to taking our partnership to new heights.”

The agreement follows last month’s launch of Realize—Taboola’s new platform focused entirely on performance outcomes beyond search and social. Realize leverages Taboola’s unique dataset, AI tech, and a growing mix of creative formats to drive performance at scale.

The new agreement between Taboola and the Otago Daily Times is effective immediately.
