Vodafone has announced changes to its mobile data plans, offering 50% more data on its latest On Account plans, $59.99 and above.

Included in the changes is the introduction of a new open term plan. Customers can now binge, browse and burn through 15GB of data for $99 a month. That’s enough data to upload 60,000 photos to social media, or watch YouTube videos solidly for three days, says Vodafone consumer director Matt Williams

“The uptake of smartphone technology and mobile data consumption is continuing to surge in New Zealand as Kiwis spend more time running their businesses online, keeping in touch with their friends, or enjoying video entertainment,” Williams said.

“By dialling up the data allowance for our On Account customers, they can now spend more time than ever doing the things they love online.”

The changes include …

  • Vodafone’s $59 plan will now include a 4GB data allowance, an increase from 2.5GB + 1GB bonus;
  • The $79 plan will now include a 7.5GB data allowance, an increase from 5GB + 1GB bonus.
  • And a new $99 plan provides 15GB data, along with unlimited MINS and TXT.

Changes to 24 Month contract plans:

  • Vodafone’s $99 plan will now include 7.5GB data, an increase from 5GB;
  • The $129 plan now includes 12.5GB, an increase from 7.5GB; and
  • Vodafone’s $149 plan now includes a massive 15GB of data, 5GB more than the previous plan.

Each plan offers customers unlimited personal calling and TXTs to standard New Zealand and Australian numbers, $5 daily roaming, and access to entertainment, sports and music rewards.
