“The Pond continues to do recruitment better – and has the latest stats to prove it,” reckons talent director Leighton Howl in an EDM he sent recently to clients.

“We shake the agency recruitment sector up every day – and surprise, surprise, we are still getting better results than any of our competitors.

“So the latest numbers are in and it’s official, Pond recruits are now sticking around even longer, 4.3 years to be precise. This is a true reflection of the efforts we go to, in ensuring that the right people are recruited for the right roles and agencies.

“It’s almost been one year since we set this up (as a client requested it) and we discovered that the talent we placed full-time were remaining in their dream jobs for an average of 4.1 years. Nice! We also discovered that no other recruiter pitched their actual ‘retention’ results, not even the big dawgs.

“We went to LinkedIn, and did what they do in cricket. We worked out our recruitment batting average.”

“As you know we are committed to finding the best in Design & Creative, Digital & Tech, Marketing & Account Management. With the best people sticking around it will enable your agency to grow.

“How did we datamine our batting average?

“We went to LinkedIn, and did what they do in cricket. We worked out our recruitment batting average.

“In summary, we reviewed everyone we placed fulltime since 2006 and converted their years in that role into the number of months, and divided it by the total number of people we placed. If they were still in the role they were considered, shall we say, not-out.

“The result is 4.3 years (52 months) for placements through The Pond.”
