AUCKLAND, Today: “We are a small but perfectly formed design, animation and post-production company in Eden Terrace, called The Rig,” writes producer Lisa Eversden, introducing us to The Rig, and their new work for NZ building company Latitude Homes.
“We did the whole thing in-house – design, shot, animated,” Eversden said.
“Handling the entire project in-house allowed us the freedom to edit and shoot as the animation developed, ultimately delivering something we are proud of – on time and on budget.”
Eversden also introduced us to New Plymouth creative agency Smokeylemon, which for 18 years has worked with national and international clients in web design, graphic design, and digital marketing.
The Rig director Glen Atkins said: “Ross from Smokeylemon came to us with a great script featuring a loveable, cute kiwi and we could see the potential for something quite heartwarming.
“The creative agency was New Plymouth-based Smokeylemon.”
“We had a lot of fun darting around the city at night shooting plates while our 3D team built a pretty convincing Kiwi – each scene grew organically depending on foot traffic.”
Smokeylemon strategist Ross Bennett said: “Originally we were planning on launching the ad at the start of March but when we started brainstorming ideas and landed on this story of the kiwi, we knew it would be a stretch to have it built and live in a month.
“Lucky for us the team at Latitude loved the idea and were happy to push the launch date out so Lisa and her team would have time to craft and perfect the visuals.
“At its core, Latitude has always been about getting Kiwis in homes and we are proud to be able to help them bring that principle to life in the advert.”
The Rig was formed in 2013 by Eversden and Atkins.
