Touchcast prepares to take our manuka honey global

Digital strategy agency, Touchcast plans to take New Zealand’s newest brand of honey to the world. It’s teamed with newly-launched truehoney.co.nz to home deliver authenic, premium manuka honey to kiwis before launching overseas.

It’s created a fully responsive eCommerce website for the start-up company and Jacqui Copas, Auckland GM for Touchcast, says she’s proud of the collaboration between agency and client.

“The True Honey Co. has been a real inspiration. The work they put in to get every partnership right before a drop of honey could even be made speaks volumes about their values.

“And creating the website has been exactly that – a genuine partnership. The team has been brilliant to work with.”

“It had to tell a compelling story about the The True Honey Co. brand and values, showcase a beautiful local product and make it super‐easy to browse and actually buy the honey. That’s a pretty high bar to reach.”

Given The True Honey Co.’s strategy to sell direct to consumers online, Auckland Design director Dean Pomfrett says the team knew from the start they had to create a site which excelled on three fronts.

Dean says the job was made easier thanks to contributions from three other key partners – branding from Marx Design, the unique packaging from Mat at Think Packaging and copywriting from Kate Phillips at Type B.

After initially focusing on getting the attention of NZ honey-lovers, Touchcast will help The True Honey Co. launch in their first export market later this year, followed by other markets over time.

And Copas says Touchcast have really enjoyed the journey so far.

“The True Honey Co. began nearly two years ago in the dense, back country Manuka bush of New Zealand and it’s now well on the way to going global. We’re thrilled to have played an important part in that.”
