After an “exhaustive” competitive pitch that began late last year, Auckland International Airport has consolidated its multiple agency partnerships into one – and appointed Whybin\TBWA as its lead advertising and brand partner.Whybin\TBWA ceo Todd McLeay says his team is delighted to win such a prestigious and interesting account.
“Auckland Airport plays such an important role in the New Zealand economy and in many of our lives when we travel,” he said. “The functions that Auckland Airport performs are wide and varied and include retail, property, parking, route development, and of course ensuring that customers’ journeys begin and end with as seamless an experience as possible.
“From a service design, as well as a digital and a creative perspective it’s just an amazing opportunity for us.
“We have been building our business around the idea that service brands need to strike a balance between being functionally fantastic and creatively inspiring. Auckland Airport is the perfect embodiment of this philosophy in practice.”
Auckland Airport general manager of marketing communication Jason Delamore said Whybin\TBWA is a good fit in terms of skills, services and personalities.
“We have a diverse range of requirements and are a multi-faceted business,” Delamore said. “When it comes to an agency partner, we need one that can seamlessly work in with our teams and deliver integrated marketing programmes across the spectrum of service and communication channels.
“Whybin\TBWA certainly ticks all the boxes.”
