AUCKLAND, Wednesday: Aussie site Best Ads’ guest judge Jeffrey Hilts (co-CCO at FCB Toronto) has named Republik NZ’s latest work for Volvo as the best print ad in the world last week.

Hilts wrote: In a category where safety features have become table stakes, can one car brand still own safety? The answer is yes.

“This well-crafted ad reminds us that Volvo has always been – and still is – the brand that stands for safety.”

“This simple and well-crafted ad does a wonderful job of reminding us Volvo has always been, and still is, the automotive brand that stands for safety. Not only by making their cars safer but by graciously sharing their innovations to help make all cars safer.”

A “stoked” Repulik director Paul McNamara said: “Volvo briefed us in on producing a full-page print ad for a national press campaign celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the 3 Point Seatbelt.
