AUCKLAND, Today: WPP has acquired InfoSum, a leading data collaboration platform, in a move set to supercharge its AI-powered marketing capabilities through GroupM, its media investment group.

The acquisition gives WPP and its clients immediate access to the largest cross-platform source of privacy-safe, actionable data—perfect for audience targeting, marketing intelligence and AI model training.

InfoSum’s patented cross-cloud tech connects datasets without moving or exposing data. Now integrated with WPP Open, it allows clients to unlock richer insights from first-party data, securely enhanced with AI.

Using federated learning, clients can build, train and deploy custom AI models—faster and with greater reach. They’ll have access to data signals across the InfoSum network, GroupM media intelligence, and WPP’s own data assets.

The global InfoSum network includes hundreds of billions of data signals from partners like Channel 4, Netflix, News Corp, Experian, and Samsung Ads—plus major retailers and data providers.

“It allows clients to stay in complete control of their first-party data, while also giving them access to vastly greater quantities of high-quality, privacy-compliant data and pioneering technology that is not available anywhere else in the market today.”

Brian Lesser, CEO of GroupM commented, “Directly integrating InfoSum’s global data network and technology infrastructure will allow our clients to create even more value from their first-party data and enable us to train client AI models against the most data, from the most places, at unprecedented scale and speed.”
